Murder victim Brett Thornberry, 18, as remembered in a photo from Facebook |
A 15-year old boy was arrested between 9:30PM and 10:00PM last night at Covington Police headquarters following questions from investigators. Tips led to the teen being brought in to the station. On Tuesday night, police arrived at 1010 Greenup Street to find 18-year old Brett Thornberry shot to death. "We are still interviewing individuals and witnesses that are cooperating with us and we are optimistic that we will be able to bring this case to resolve very soon," Assistant Police Chief Spike Jones tells The River City News. As for the address of Thornberry's murder being the same as the 2009 brutal slaying of Shawn Davis, "It's a very unfortunate situation that the two incidents occurred there but it would be speculative to connect the too now," Jones said. Because the suspect is underage, his name will be withheld but Jones said that the 15-year old is a resident of Covington.
