A last-second filing brings a third candidate into the race for Mayor of Covington. Alyssa Dara McDowell of Monte Casino, a former candidate for Kenton County Judge-Executive, filed to face sitting Commissioners Sherry Carran and Steve Casper for the City's top elected position. McDowell was most recently vocal at City Hall as an advocate of home-schoolers during the debate over Covington's new daytime curfew for minors. More on her in the coming days.
