UPDATE: 10:45PM - Varney appears to have been released from the Kenton County Jail. No further information was available from the Covington Police Department who handled the arrests. Varney is expected to appear in court Friday morning.

Covington School Board member Denise Varney was arrested Thursday night along with her husband, Donald Varney, following a domestic disturbance. Denise Varney, 40, was booked into the Kenton County Jail at 8:00PM tonight and is charged with 4th degree assault/domestic violence, the same charge that Dinald Varney, 41, also faces. This story is developing and The River City News will update as soon as more information becomes available.
