THE RIVER CITY NEWS MORE COVINGTON NEWS THAN ANY OTHER SOURCE
|
After a resolution opposing a proposed action by the Housing Authority of Covington was pulled from last week's Commission meeting agenda, HAC will dominate Tuesday night's caucus meeting. Prior to the removal of the resolution opposing the City's participation in the Moving To Work program supported by the Housing Authority, two Covington Commissioners blasted HAC's director, Aaron Wolfe-Bertling, at The River City News Facebook page. "He didn't approach us before doing an end run around us and we put our foot down," Commissioner Steve Frank wrote. "He'll now have to talk with us at the next Caucus. The whole Housing Department has been as transparent as ink."

"Commissioner Frank is correct," wrote Commissioner Shawn Masters. "I don't think the commission is opposed to "Moving to Work", but it will be a cold day in hell before I vote to allow Wolfe-Bertling the latitude to exploit our Section 8 program." Wolfe-Bertling declined to comment at the time to The River City News when reached by telephone and also did not speak on the issue when he briefly addressed the Commission regarding a separate item. Tuesday night's meeting starts at 6:00PM. "Expect fireworks," Commissioner Frank wrote at Facebook. Here's the agenda:
