An unexpected sign is on display at one of Covington's busiest intersections, where Fifth Street meets Main Street, and the most popular entrance into the Mainstrasse Village. At the building that most recently housed a Skyline Chili location, the sign that sits prominently at the corner reads: Coming Soon: Aunt Norma's Bakery & Gunshop - We'll clean your guns while you eat. The sign is patched together with several pieces of regular-sized computer printer paper. So is a gun shop slash bakery really opening at this important location?

No, says Kim Blank, executive director of the Mainstrasse Village Association. Blank spoke with the building's owner earlier Monday and was told simply that "someone got creative with a sign". Most recently the building was on the market with plans attached to it that hinted of the future opening of a Popeye's Chicken. As for those plans, the building's owner is not sure, according to Blank.

But one thing is certain: even though it is a creative idea and entirely Kentucky in nature, there will be no Aunt Norma's Bakery & Gunshop in Covington. There will however be many more laughs at the intersection until the sign is removed.
