BILL WOULD MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO VIEW CHILD PORN INTENTIONALLY
But accidentally, it's okay:
It has long been illegal to possess child porn, but most possession laws were written before the advent of the Internet, where much viewing of child porn occurs, Sinnette said. The committee amended his bill to make it clear that inadvertent viewing of child porn is not a crime.

KENTUCKY ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE IS BELOW AVERAGE
Kentuckians are concerned:
Income plays a role, as expected. It's positively associated with the percent of people who saw current economic conditions as good (.49) and negatively associated with the percent that viewed them as bad (-.36) and getting worse (-.55). There was no correlation between income and the percent of respondents who saw economic conditions improving.

Interestingly, Kentucky relies more on government handouts than most states:
The very parts of the United States with the highest support for the Tea Party and libertarian movements in general have the most people receiving federal aide, according to the Times research, which was in turn drawn from U.S. Census data and the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

SPEAKING OF GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS...
Nobody likes government handouts more than Omnicare and now the greedy corporation that is bailing on its taxpayer-subsidized RiverCenter offices watches itself get an upgrade from Credit Suisse after a high profile deal fell apart:
Share of Omnicare (NYSE: OCR) have underperformed the market by nearly 11 percent since the New York Post on Jan. 12 broke news that the deal was in jeopardy, Glen Santangelo and other analysts with Credit Suisse, the Zurich-based financial services company, wrote.
“We believe the potential removal of that overhang later this week will allow investors to refocus on near-term fundamentals when the company reports on 2/23, which we believe will propel shares higher over time,” the analysts wrote.
Ah, business.

LUDLOW, CAMPBELL COUNTY WIN GRANTS FOR TRAIL PROJECTS
The Commonwealth is handing out cash for trails and two local communities scored some:
The total of $1,849,648 in federal grant dollars will go to 38 applicants for hiking, biking, horseback riding and other types of trails as part of the Federal Highway Administration’s Recreational Trails Program (RTP). The applicants include city and county government as well as state and federal agencies.
“Developing Kentucky trails is instrumental in increasing overall adventure tourism efforts and boosting local economies throughout the state,” said Mrs. Beshear. “These federal funds help communities get trail projects off the ground so they can bring in tourism dollars and provide areas for their citizens to be active and live healthier lifestyles.”

THIEF CAUGHT ON CAMERA STEALING KY WOMAN'S WATCH AT FLA AIRPORT
Surely this boy's mama taught him better than this:
Officials say the theft happened Jan. 18 as 43-year-old Gloria de Regalado was returning to Lexington, Ky., after a South Florida vacation. The Broward Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday released Transportation Security Administration video that shows a man in line behind de Regalado picking up the watch and walking away.

WESTERN KY BRIDGE HIT BY BOAT DID NOT HAVE LIGHTS ON
That would certainly help explain this accident:

The owners of a cargo ship that struck part of a western Kentucky bridge causing it to collapse say they were not responsible for the nighttime crash that took out a chunk of the span because some of the bridge's lights were not working.
