THE RIVER CITY NEWS MORE COVINGTON NEWS THAN ANY OTHER SOURCE
The Saint Patrick's Day celebrations filled Covington with thousands of visitors, especially in Mainstrasse, but when the sun came up again Sunday morning the Village's streets were the obvious recipients of the overflowing trash left behind. Covington City Commissioner Shawn Masters shared this statement and these photos with The River City News:
Several years ago the Commission had to address the issue of clean-up and we were guaranteed it would not be a problem going forward. The condition of the Village this morning was embarrassing, unacceptable, and a clear indication to me which bard take pride in the area and their business and which do not. It is time to address this with the Mainstrasse Village Association again and I'm not opposed to revoking 2:30AM liquor licenses of those with no consideration for the neighborhood. Maybe that will get some people's attention.
