BRENT SPENCE ALTERNATIVES PONDERED
Covington City Commission candidate Neil Gilreath is interviewed following suggestions he made a public meeting last month:
Gilreath readily volunteers he is neither a traffic engineer nor a bridge designer. Yet it seems to him it would make sense to divert some I-71 traffic onto I-471, which runs from the Daniel Carter Beard bridge in Newport to I-275 in Wilder. The route can be linked to I-71 in Kentucky via I-275. In the short term, he believes some diversion could be made merely by calling the people who program GPS map directions.
