The construction of a replacement water main will likely cause some traffic delays in Latonia as crews work along a long strip of Decoursey Avenue. From the City of Covington:
Beginning Monday, June 18th, 2012, the Northern Kentucky Water District will be replacing the water main on Decoursey Avenue from Southern Avenue (Rittes Corner) to E. 32nd Street. The proposed water main will be constructed within the northbound lane and will include tying side street water mains and existing services into the new main. During its construction, northbound traffic will be diverted to the middle turn lane in order to maintain two-way traffic around construction activities.
As part of this project, water service line work will also be conducted on Decoursey Avenue from E. 32nd Street to Madison Avenue (KY17). The total project is expected to take approximately 4 months to complete and construction will generally be between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Prior to starting the project, the NKWD will mail letters to businesses and residents along the project alignment informing them of important project dates and details.
