A longtime blighted block of Banklick Street in Old Seminary Square is on its way back to the land of the living. The 900 block has been an eyesore for decades but was surrounded in recent years by newer, more attractive development including the Pulse Lofts and the new John G. Carlisle school. The Center for Great Neighborhoods, city staff and city commissioners joined neighbors and community to leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new construction project in addition to the rehabilitation of three more homes on the block. "They are houses we can all be proud of," said Adam Rockel of the Center for Great Neighborhoods. "This whole block will be completely transformed."
