COVINGTON MAN BUYS MEGAMILLIONS TICKET, BURNS IT
How is this for bold? Covington's David Klein says this about this video:
If anyone wants to win this week's Mega Millions drawing play these numbers. With out any reason, except to tempt fate, I decided to buy a ticket and burn it before the drawing. I'm not going to cheat and buy a duplicate ticket. I figure if these numbers win then it is not my destiny to be a rich man. ;)
Wow. He also plugs the local band you hear in it:

HOUSING AUTHORITY HOSTS SPELLING BEE AT CITY HEIGHTS
From the Covington Independent Public Schools:
The Housing Authority of Covington held its first Covington Spelling Bee competition on March 22 in the City Heights Community Room.
Winners of the spelling bee are: 3rd Grade – Raul Beck-Abad, Ninth District Elementary School; 4th Grade – Keyala Johnson, Latonia Elementary School; 5th Grade – Amaiah Perry, Ninth District Elementary School.
The event was designed to help children value education, improve spelling skills, increase vocabulary and develop proper English. Students prepared for the competition for seven weeks through the housing authority and partner programs including Covington Independent Public Schools and the Boys and Girls Club.
The spelling bee will continue to be an annual event of the housing authority with the goal of keeping students in school and reinforcing the value of education, said Jon Adkins, education coordinator for the housing authority.
Way to go, kids!
