TORNADO RECOVERY UPDATE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WANTS MORE TO TAKE WEATHER COURSE

"If you actually have those reports of golf ball-sized hail or a funnel cloud, as opposed to saying there's a Doppler-indicated tornado, people take that as a reality and they actually take action," she said.

|TURFWAY PARK BRACES FOR CASINO COMPETITION, NOT READY TO SELL
These are bleak days for NKY's only race track:
Elliston and other horse industry leaders had been pushing for a constitutional amendment to allow casino gambling, which failed Feb. 23 in the state Senate by a 16-21 vote.Video at the link.
But Elliston said last week that track owners have no immediate plans to fold. And that’s welcome news to area leaders who were concerned about the economic and intangible effects of losing the track:

BEAM FROM WORLD TRADE CENTER ON DISPLAY AT KENTON CO LIBRARY
From the library:
The Erlanger Branch of the Kenton County Public Library will host a two week display of a steel beam from the World Trade Center attacks on 9-11. It is worth the visit to see it in person at 401 Kenton Lands road. The heat and inertia it would take to bend and warp such a thick piece of steel is unimaginable. As Dave said, it is a solemn way to remember those lost on that day almost 12 years ago.

CHAMPION FILLY HAS A CRUSH ON BUDDING CHAMPION COLT
Zenyatta and Hansen sitting in a tree... From Zenyatta's "diary":
In Lexington, we had 4 inches of snow fall and it is absolutely gorgeous outside. It suddenly occurred to ME while walking in my paddock earlier today that if HANSEN (by Tapit) was out playing in the snow like this, he’d blend right into the environment. He is so handsome…and so WHITE in color. I thought he ran a fabulous race in The Gotham (G3) on Saturday. It is wonderful to see a 2 year old champion remain in top form when returning for his 3 year old campaign.Zenyatta
