In late November, the City of Covington and the Center for Great Neighborhoods broke ground on a housing project at the 900 block of Banklick Street next to the Pulse Lofts and John G. Carlisle Elementary School. The long blighted block was promised a return to the living. "They are houses we can all be proud of," said Adam Rockel of the Center for Great Neighborhoods at the time. "This whole block will be completely transformed." (To see the original report with photos from The River City News click here.) Now those hopes are closer to coming to fruition. Check out the photos snapped today on the block demonstrating the progress:

Meanwhile, over on Main Street, progress continues on another rehab project:
One block at a time, Covington.
